Oak Run

We took the boys out to the beach at Oak Run.   We enjoyed cooling off at the lake.  Hayes like it because you could go out pretty far without the it being very deep.  I just wish it was a little closer to Peoria because we have such a fun time when we do go.

A Day of Firsts

It's the first day of school and a look back at the previous first days.  Max goes into 5th grade and Laney starts 8th grade.  Plus we decided to take Hayes out of his crib and he enjoyed spending the night in a bed for the first time.    Hopefully the transition to a big boy bed won't stop him from sleeping like a baby.

A Good Beer Spoiled...

Golf has been described as a "good walk spoiled" and I can see why, but since I don't particularly like walking but would much prefer just enjoying a cold brew on a hot summers day, so I think this title is apt.  I golf about once a year usually with my brothers and father because they are big golfers.  I am not, but every year I think to myself that it would be fun to go golfing with my family and by the 18th hole I vow to myself that I will never golf again.  Maybe I should just do nine holes and call it quits because I am seriously dragging by the end of 18.  I have never broken 100 and that's even with my less than meticulous score keeping and multiple mulligans.  This year we golfed at the Metamora Fields(I thought my dad was joking when he told me I had to wear a collared shirt) and I did end up winning...

on one hole...

I scored a birdie...

YES!

But my dad up having the lowest score overall and I ended up with a soft 113 or so.  But look at that swing. EPIC!

He Even Looks Guilty

We caught you, Chef Bameril and we had fun doing it.  It was a lovely masquerade ball until Sherlock up and died, but who killed him?  Just looking at Bameril you know the guy was up to no good, plus all the rumors about food illness due to poor bathroom hygiene.  I was playing the character of Luke a standup comedian/food inspector and Catherine was Pepper a tv producer who was supposed to sing instead of talk but someone wasn't that into her role.  Thanks to Danell for putting on a fabulous murder mystery dinner with a gourmet spread and a whole lot of fun.   Oh...and Magniffe, I know Sherlock's dead and your still grieving, but have I mentioned, "I just got out of a long term relationship"...

Summer Sleepover

Max has been wanting to have his friend Tommy sleep over for awhile and we finally had the opportunity, but unfortunately it was during the heatwave.   The boys weren't too excited to do anything outside but I dragged them to safety town anyway but the boys enjoyed going off road and riding their bikes and scooter down the grassy hills.  Hayes decided to play  it safe though and stayed on the road.   Hayes also decided that he was jealous that he didn't have a friend too, so he decided to introduce himself to a slug.  He was very excited about the slug and literally hung around the slug for a 20 minutes and even tried to kiss it goodbye.
