Peoria Flooding at the Riverfront

Hayes and I decided to take a walk along the riverfront last night and take a look at the historic flooding in downtown Peoria.   I think Hayes was more interested  in the fabulous stick that he found, but here are some pics from our night downtown.

Spring Snowstorm

Since Hayes was in Hawaii for most of the snow this winter, I believe he was one of the few to welcome the spring snow that blanketed Peoria recently.  He was constantly begging to go out and play in the snow and didn't seem to care that he wasn't wearing any mittens.   Max and I had to drag him inside after he wore us both out.

Big Fun on the Big Island

A highlight of our trip to Hawaii was our little jaunt over to the big island.   I was excited to see a different side of Hawaii having only been to Oahu.     We packed in a lot in two days.  We started out in Kona and while we didn't want to leave the resort, we did take a boat ride off the coast to do a night snorkel with manta rays.  The next day we drove over to the other side of the island to see volcano national park where we saw lava tubes, steam vents and the active crater.  Fun times!

Haole in Honolulu

Another year and I had to drag myself to the in-laws for a visit. Well maybe "drag" is not the right word when your in-laws happen to live in a tropical paradise. The first thing anyone should do after landing in Hawaii is head to the grocery store and pick up some fresh Ahi or Tako Pokē and so we went straight from the airport to Foodland. The rest of the week was spent on one beach or another and this year our plan was to hit the Happy Hours so we could sample some great Hawaiian food at half the price. Another highlight was a visit to the big island but I will save that for a later post. Enjoy the pics from around Oahu.

Max and the Museum

I haven't posted for a while but things have been happening in these cold winter months.  Max had an 11th birthday and we also visited the Peoria Riverfront Museum which just opened up in the last year.  Cat's parents came and so did the Gudeman's so we went to the museum twice in one weekend.  Here are some pictures of our adventures.
