Happy Father's Day!

I can only think of Jeff in the context of being a father.
Before we started dating and were just co-workers I commented to him, "It must be a drag to be a single dad." He responded, "Actually I really enjoy being a dad. The divorce has really grown my relationship with my kids. I've gotten to know them as people and it's been good."
I've seen him cry over his children and his desire for them to feel loved and secure despite many seasons of unwelcome change in their lives that were out of his control...he's always present to cheer them on at sporting events and school functions and he's very much the person the kids lean on for their spiritual foundation. Not a night goes by without a Bible story told by Jeff and prayers said to the Lord.
Our culture may put mothers on a pedestal as being of premier importance in the lives of their children but Jeff has taught me that fathers play an equally important role in raising good kids.
